Sharing Your Experience of NHS Continuing Healthcare
The Older People’s Commissioner for Wales 1 understands that applying for NHS Continuing
Healthcare can sometimes be stressful and upsetting for older people and their families.
She wants to listen and learn from people’s experiences, so that things can be improved in the
future.
You are invited to share your experience, but only if you feel comfortable doing so. You can
take part in a way that works best for you:
 Filling in a questionnaire at your own pace
 Speaking to someone on the phone
 Having a conversation online
You can choose how much or how little you would like to share. You can also stop at any time.
Everything you tell us will be treated with care and respect. Your personal details will not be
shared, and anything included in reports to the Welsh Government will be anonymous.
You can choose to take part in Welsh or English. If you would prefer to use another language or
need support to take part, the Commissioner’s office will do what they can to help.
Your experience could help make the system clearer, fairer, and more supportive for others in the
future.
If you would like to take part, or would like more information first, please contact Val Billingham
at Valerie.billingham@olderpeople.wales by 31 July 2026.
